NANTUCKET, Mass. – A murky and bloody scene was left behind along the shores of Nantucket beach in Massachusetts, where a large shark was seen feasting on a seal over the weekend.
Video captured by local Tyler O’Brien shows him driving through the area before pulling over after noticing bloody water and a large figure swirling in the ocean.
"Oh my God, look at it, it’s huge," an onlooker with O’Brien said, while watching from a safe distance from shore.

The shark's large dorsal fin and tail can be seen slightly emerging from the shallow water as it eats a seal.
The shark glides back and forth through the bloody water, enjoying every bit of its prized hunt before heading back into deeper waters.
According to the Florida Museum of Natural History, most shark attacks occur in nearshore waters, typically inshore of a sandbar or between sandbars where sharks feed and become trapped at low tide.

Coastal development can also reduce vital shark habitats, pushing them to hunt closer to shore, where they are more visible.
