Westminster residents can finally celebrate as Trader Joe’s prepares to open its ninth store in Colorado later this month.
The announcement was revealed by a Facebook post this week from the City of Westminster stating, “This is not a drill, Westy! Our highly-anticipated Trader Joe’s store officially opens Friday, July 25!”
The post continued with “The community is invited to a grand opening celebration at 9 a.m. at the store in City Center Marketplace at 92nd Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard. Help us welcome Trader Joe’s to our great city, and let the countdown begin!”
The national neighborhood grocer recently went viral on TikTok for opening a new store in Sherman Oaks, Calif., directly across from an existing location.
Known for its quirky charm, the grocer offers a mix of everyday essentials alongside unique products like trendy mini canvas tote bags, frozen hash brown patties and the highly sought-after Dubai chocolate bar.

It leased 25,000 square feet of space at 9350 Sheridan Blvd. and will now join a lineup of stores across Colorado, including Boulder, Colorado Springs, Denver, Fort Collins, Greenwood Village, Littleton and Parker.
Online users were quick to share their excitement about the new store, posting comments like, “Finally, a store that isn’t 30+ minutes away!” and “Woohoo, I’ve been waiting for this store to open.”
Others mentioned the parking situation, saying it was “finally decent,” which is notable since the grocer is known for having small parking lots.
Alongside parking and unconventional finds, the new Westminster store will offer fresh flowers and everyday basics like milk, eggs, meat, bakery items and fresh produce. According to the grocer’s website, it will also offer beer and wine.
