Sling TV recently launched a slew of new subscription options. While the short-term Sling Orange flex passes made the most waves with their day, weekend, and weeklong options, the streamer also launched a new set of season passes — just in time for football season.
The five-month-long Sling season passes are available for the Sling Blue, Orange, and Orange + Blue plans. The individual prepaid season passes cost $199 for Orange and $199 for Blue, but if you decide to combine the two, you can get the five-month pass for $274. This is a decent discount compared to the price you'd pay after five months if you subscribed with a monthly plan — about 13% off for the individual plans and 10% for Sling Orange + Blue.
Sling's Orange plan will be helpful for Monday Night Football thanks to its ESPN live stream (in addition to 33 other channels), while Sling Blue will carry NFL Network, FOX, NBC, and ABC games (plus around 40 other channels). Just keep in mind that Sling's local channel coverage varies by region, so you'll want to double-check what's available in your ZIP code before signing up. Sling also doesn't carry CBS in any markets.
You can also add the Sports Extra to get NFL RedZone (Sling Blue or Orange + Blue) and the ACC Network, SEC Network, and ESPNU (Sling Orange or Orange + Blue) to help flesh out your NFL and college football viewing opportunities. Keep reading to learn everything you need to know about Sling TV's season passes, including what happens when the five months end and a breakdown of exactly what channels you're getting.
FAQ
What happens after the five months end?
Once the five months are up, you'll be automatically enrolled in the monthly version of your plan, which costs $45.99 a month for Sling Orange, $45.99+ a month for Sling Blue, and $60.99 a month for Sling Orange + Blue. If your favorite sport is out of season and you don't want to be subscribed to Sling after the five-month period, you can just log into your account and cancel so that you don't incur ongoing monthly charges.
Which season pass should you get?
The right Sling season pass ultimately depends on your personal needs, but we recommend getting the Orange + Blue combo plan for something like football (NFL or college-level) since it carries both ESPN (Orange) and the NFL Network and local channels (Blue).
Both plans include TNT, AMC, CNN, and other popular channels. In addition to various ESPN channels, Orange exclusively carries Disney Channel, while Blue's exclusive channels are more geared towards news and sports, including networks like FS1, Fox News, and MSNBC.
