Scooter Braun Breaks Silence on Taylor Swift Feud: ‘A Gift’

Scooter Braun is choosing to view his years-long feud with Taylor Swift as a “gift.” Joining The Diary of a CEO podcast for a Monday episode, Braun recalled his side of the battle over Swift’s music catalog and revealed where he currently stands with the musician. “Everyone moves on,” Braun said of the back-and-forth skirmish. “I choose to see it as a gift. I choose to see it as being able to have a perspective that very few people in the world have of knowing what that’s like. Of feeling that on a global level,” he continued, referring to the avalanche of criticism he has experienced over the years. The music mogul also said that he doesn’t “hold any hatred” for Swift following the aftermath of their dispute, which publicly dates back to 2019. At the time, Braun’s company, Ithaca Holdings, bought Swift’s former record label, Big Machine, making him the owner of virtually her entire music catalog up until her 2017 album Reputation. Swift later posted a statement on the purchase to her Tumblr account, accusing Braun of years of “incessant, manipulative bullying.” In 2020, Braun sold Swift’s masters to private equity firm Shamrock Capital. The firm then sold the masters back to Swift in 2025 for a reported $360 million, with Braun telling Page Six that he was “happy” for her.
