The Defense Department has been loaning military planes to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. so the Health and Human Services Secretary can jet around the country.
Kennedy, 72, used one of those aircraft, a Gulfstream operated by the Air Force, to fly out to a GOP event in Iowa last month, according to the Washington Post. Its going rate is $9,000 an hour. A commercial flight would have cost $250.
Sources familiar with the secretary’s travel arrangements told the newspaper that he has used this expensive mode of transportation at other times since taking office. Both the White House and HHS attorneys have approved the arrangement.
