Multiple Republicans are worried that the deeply unpopular Donald Trump is going to doom the GOP in the midterm elections.
The GOP is already expected to suffer major losses in November’s nationwide races, including potentially losing control of both the House and Senate.
Republican strategists and lawmakers now fear that the 80-year-old president’s plummeting approval ratings and refusal to listen to voters’ concerns about issues such as the cost-of-living crisis, the war in Iran and the construction of data centers mean November will be particularly brutal.
