More on Quince
Founded in 2018, Quince is known for its affordable "dupes" of popular luxury products. Its values center on quality, affordability, and sustainability. The selection, though expansive in category offerings, is curated. Products with poor reviews get redesigned or phased out.
Quince products are cheaper than others because it's a direct from the factory to consumer brand, skipping over the supply chain costs typically associated with retail. It also tries to use sustainable materials and practices as much as possible.
When browsing Quince, you'll notice that products have a "traditional retail" price alongside the actual cost. Don't be fooled, though. Showing the traditional retail price doesn't mean the product is on sale; instead, it aims to show how much you save by buying from Quince rather than luxury brands. While it could be seen as misleading, it's all a part of Quince's cost transparency, and they even break down just how much it costs to make a garment. Quince also offers a generous 365-day return policy with free shipping and returns.
It's not all sunshine and rainbows, though. The brand has received a lot of criticism recently, especially related to its design practices. It has been accused of copying designs from smaller retailers and lacking transparency on their supply chain using misleading product information that greenwashes sustainability efforts. The brand takes a "same, but cheaper" stance to emphasize its quality basics on a budget.
Bamboo Sheet Set
Quince's bamboo sheets are soft and cooling— everything bamboo sheets should be.
Kinsley Searles/Business Insider
"I'd been looking for good bamboo sheets without breaking the bank, so I went with Quince's Organic Bamboo Sheet Set. At under $130 for a queen, these sheets are a steal. I was surprised to find just how soft they are. I'd expected bamboo sheets to be crisp like a percale sheet, but they feel much more similar to the comfort of a sateen sheet. Even with their softness, these sheets are incredibly cooling. They feel nice on the skin and keep me from overheating, even during the warmer months. I have noticed pilling and torn threads after washing, so they aren't the most durable, but they're an excellent budget bamboo sheet option." —Kinsley Searles, home and sleep reviews fellow
Linen sheets are lightweight and airy, so they're perfect for summer. Quince's set is the best budget pick in our best linen sheets guide.
Shannon Ullman/Business Insider
"Made from 100% European flax, these linen sheets have a soft feel that falls directly in between Brooklinen's Washed Linen Core Sheets and Sijo's LuxeWeave Linen Sheets. The material was quite luxurious and inviting, albeit a bit warm. So, if you sleep on the hotter side, you might want to give these thicker sheets a pass. I do have concerns about long-term durability, however. After a year of regular use, my flat sheet split down the middle while I was sleeping
The fitted sheet comes with those handy top and bottom tags, and both layers went through the wash without pilling. For those who like a monochromatic look, Quince also has duvet covers in the same color options as the sheets." —Shannon Ullman, freelance writer
Premium Down Comforter
Quince's down comforter comes in lightweight, all-season, and ultra-warm.
Quince
"I'm a sucker for a good down comforter, and Quince offers one of the most affordable options I can think of without compromising on materials. Available in lightweight, all-season, or ultra weights, it has a typical baffle-box construction that keeps the responsibly sourced down in place and a soft sateen cotton cover with loops for your duvet cover. The All-Season has a 650 fill power, while the light and ultra have a lower and higher fill power, respectively. The All-Season is fluffy and lofty, giving my bed a full look. I find it comfortable for year-round use in Georgia, though I don't struggle with running hot. It is dry-clean only, which is pretty common for most down duvets I've come across." —Jaclyn Turner, senior home editor
Premium Down Pillow
Quince makes an excellent budget-friendly down pillow in a variety of firmnesses.
Kinsley Searles/Business Insider
"I've recently fallen in love with down pillows, and Quince's down pillow has earned a coveted spot on my bed. When fluffed regularly, it stays perfectly cushy and supportive. It has the feel of a hotel pillow, which I love. It's also an excellent pillow for stacking for extra support in addition to its cushiony softness. I've also tried and loved Quince's down alternative pillow, which has the same feel as the down pillow but is filled with hypoallergenic microfiber. It's much cheaper than the traditional down pillow, too." —Kinsley Searles, home and sleep reviews fellow
Mulberry Silk Pillowcase
The Quince Mulberry Silk Pillowcase is made with 100%, 22 momme mulberry silk.
Kinsley Searles/Business Insider
"I was surprised by Quince's silk pillowcase. Since the brand is known for selling luxury items at an affordable price, I assumed that the silk pillowcase couldn't compete with more expensive options. In my experience, Quince's pillowcase holds its own against competitors. The silk is thick and durable, plus the hidden zipper is smooth. It's rare to find such high-quality silk for under $50."—Kinsley Searles, home and sleep reviews fellow
Mongolian Cashmere Throw
The Mongolian Cashmere Throw is the perfect addition for your bed or couch.
Quince
"Quince is perhaps most well-known for shaking up the cashmere industry with its $50 cashmere sweater. It only makes sense that they've offered a comparable throw blanket; this is half the price of finding it at a traditional retailer. Quince says its cashmere is sourced from Hircus goats in Inner Mongolia. It's delectably soft and cozy without being stifling. I love the fringe detail adorning the edges." —Jaclyn Turner, senior home editor
Turkish Ultra Plush Bath Towels
The Turkish Ultra Plush bath towels also come in a bath sheet size for extra coverage.
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
"I look forward to wrapping myself in the Turkish Ultra Plush bath sheet after my shower. They're so cozy and soft, I love to hang around in them. They're heavy and substantial (with an 800 GSM), but unlike some other super plush towels I've tried, they still dried in a singular drying cycle. I also got some lipstick and mascara on the hand towel, and it came off in the wash without a trace of ever being there.
Quince towels are sold in bundles, which include two each bath towels (or sheet), hand towels, and washcloths, or in sets of two. I've been noticing these towels show up on a few friends' wedding registries, and after I commend them on their smart choice of towels, I've been sure to spread the love. I've tried two styles; the other is below. Both are made of long-staple Turkish cotton. My only complaint with both of these towels is that they both endured some shrinkage in my dryer, both about three inches. I sadly only have a medium and high setting… no low, which is what the care tag recommended." —Jaclyn Turner, senior home editor
Waffle Terry Towels
Quince's Waffle Terry Towels are great if you prefer a lightweight, quick-drying towel.
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
"Also worth a try, the waffle terry towels are like nothing I've tried before: an outer waffle-weave front with a looped terry reverse. They're ultra-absorbent and fast-drying. I like to wrap my hair in these, they're able to handle the excess moisture without developing an odor.
These will appeal to those who like the lightweight and aesthetic look of waffle towels with the durable yet soft classic terry design. They also take up minimal space in my linen closet because of how thin they are."—Jaclyn Turner, senior home editor
Leather Jewelry Box
Quince's leather jewelry box is our favorite jewelry box for ring storage.
Camryn Rabideau/Business Insider
"This leather jewelry box has the best storage for rings, with a six-channel section for keeping precious gems safe and easily accessible. The outside is made from real leather, and it comes with three inner trays that are lined with an anti-tarnish microsuede. You can change the arrangement of the trays to keep your most-used pieces on top, but keep in mind that you do have to remove all the trays to access pieces on the bottom. The Quince jewelry box comes in either a black or nude color, and it has a snap closure to keep the lid securely shut when it's not in use." —Camryn Rabideau, freelance writer
Mulberry Silk Eye Mask
An eye mask is one of our favorite sleep accessories, and Quince makes a great one.
Kinsley Searles/Business Insider
"The perfect companion to a mulberry silk pillowcase, Quince's mulberry silk eye mask is thick and soft to help me get my beauty sleep, even when I'm traveling or when my partner is on his phone while I'm asleep. It has a thick, stretchy band that doesn't dig into my head or my eyes. It doesn't have the best light-blocking capabilities, but sometimes I prefer that, so I can still see the sun in my room in the morning." —Kinsley Searles, home and sleep reviews fellow
Carry-On Hard Shell Suitcase
Quince's hard-shell carry-on rivals Away, for a fraction of the price.
Gabrielle Chase/Business Insider
"This carry-on bag was really easy to wheel around, and I was grateful for its smoothness when navigating the subway. I tested both this version and the Front Pocket version, but the pocket was pretty useless and only made it bulkier, so I recommend saving the extra $30 and going with the pocketless version.
This hardshell style is lightweight, but not flimsy. I like that the inside has a removable mesh pocket and a zipped pouch that unfurls and can be easily tucked away when not in use. I use it whenever I need to pack about four days' worth of outfits and toiletries.
It comes with its own magic eraser to wipe off scuff marks, but I honestly don't think it's worth the extra effort just for it to become scuffed the next time I use it. If you're concerned about scratches, you'd better get a protective sleeve or choose a soft-shell suitcase instead." — Gabrielle Chase, senior associate style editor
In the home space, Quince shines with its bed and bath basics like sheets and towels. We're impressed by product quality, especially when considering the price. Quince products aren't as durable as more expensive options, but they're still a great choice for folks on a budget.
