Let's face it, the October Prime Day sale, or Prime Big Deal Days, as Amazon keeps trying to get everyone to call it, often feels a bit much as sales fatigue sets in so soon after the store's big summer version and Labor Day. Not to mention Black Friday peeking over the horizon.
But after covering every Prime Day sale there's ever been, not to mention every other big sales event over the last 15 years, and despite seeing so many prices on everything go up this year, I've been pleasantly surprised by these Prime Day deals this week. You'll need to be quick, though, as we're in the final hours of the sale, which ends tonight at midnight PT/3 a.m. ET.
If you've already browsed a few deal roundups since the sale started, there's a handy section at Amazon highlighting new offers that have only gone live today. Otherwise, check out our top recommendations from the full sale below.

The best Prime Day phone deals
I've been lucky enough to try out all of this year's flagship phones, and while it's disappointing that new iPhones continue to avoid Amazon altogether, Samsung and Pixel have shown up in force. The passport-sized foldable Z Fold 8 has been a huge hit this year, andit's $350 offat its lowest price yet. The Google Pixel 11 Pro has only been on shelves for a few weeks and is $250 off in its best deal yet for the phone with the best Gemini options and a sweet camera - Brendan Griffiths, Senior commerce director.

The best Prime Day kitchen deals
The Business Insider Reviews team of kitchen editors and culinary testers has spent 2026 putting coffee makers, espresso machines, air fryers, and other kitchen gear through new rounds of long-term testing, so Prime Day is landing at a particularly good time. A number of our top-tested picks are now on sale, including a Ninja toaster oven air fryer for 40% off. We're also seeing harder-to-find discounts on kitchen staples from KitchenAid and Le Creuset, making this a good time to pick up a stand mixer, Dutch oven, or another upgrade we've tested and recommend - Bronwyn Barnes, Reviews deputy editor.

The best Prime Day pet deals
Pet owning isn't cheap. Even if you luck out and don't have pricey vet visits, dogs need food, cats need litter, fish need pellets, birds need seeds, and so on. I love Prime Day for restocking on these essentials, including 15% off wool dryer balls, 33% off stainless steel food bowls, and a $4 off coupon for some of our favorite cat treats. When is the October Prime Day sale?
Prime Big Deal Days, also known as Prime Day 2, will officially run from midnight PT on October 6 through to 11:59 p.m. PT on October 7.
This 48-hour window is when most deals will be live, though some started a few days earlier over the weekend. You might get a few stragglers hanging on on Thursday, but not many.
Does every Prime Day deal stay live during the sale?
No. There are lightning deals that are often live for only a few hours or until they sell out. Amazon is also releasing new deals intermittently during the two-day sale, so new offers will appear throughout.
Non-lightning deals are generally supposed to last until the sale ends once they go live, but Amazon and its merchant partners often only have a set number of units they're willing to sell at a Prime Day price, so it's not uncommon to see some items become unavailable or go back up to their regular price in the middle of the event.
Why you can trust Business Insider
I've covered every Prime Day and Prime Big Deal Days since Amazon started the events way back in 2015. In addition to product testing, I have been writing about deals, sales seasons, and price comparisons for most of my career, and have trained a dedicated team of deal hunters at various international publications on how to spot a great deal and filter out also-rans.
How are we picking the deals?
Because I want to help you connect with genuinely great products, the first place I look for a deal is right here, in ourbuying guides.
These articles are packed with quality items our team and a squad of talented expert freelancers have tested and reviewed. So I'll check Amazon to see if any of our top picks are on sale and whether the discount is significant enough to warrant highlighting here. And also double-check it's not cheaper elsewhere.
It could be the best price of the year, an all-time low, or a discount that still seems worth a punt given current events affecting prices on many items in 2026. Things like tariffs or the RAM crisis. After all, we expect many things, electronics in particular, to get more expensive going forward for a while.
If I'm highlighting a deal on an item we haven't tested on the team, you can rest assured we've done our due diligence by looking up reviews from other sites (if available), customer reviews and ratings, and checking for any red flags or frequent return labels on Amazon. TLDR: products I'd consider putting my own money down for, or recommending to friends or family.

Do I need to be a Prime member?
Yes. Most of the deals we're highlighting are exclusively for Amazon Prime subscribers. If you're not currently a member, you're likely eligible for a 30-day free trial.
You're under no obligation to keep your membership active, and you won't be charged if you cancel within the 30-day window.

That's why we take so much pride in digging out the choiciest of cuts for you. For more on how to spot the best offers when browsing yourself as well, our Deal Editor has written a guide on how to tell if a Prime Day deal is actually good.
