Nationwide immigration raids ordered by President Donald Trump have led to a spate of arrests of individuals accused of impersonating ICE agents. CNN reports that arrests have been made in at least three states. One of those was a South Carolina man who allegedly posed as an ICE agent to harass and detain a group of Latino men. Sean-Michael Johnson, 33, was allegedly caught on video stopping a vehicle near Charleston, taunting the driver with racist remarks and claiming he was sending them “back to Mexico.” He reportedly took the driver’s keys, mocked his accent, and knocked a phone from his hand when the man tried to call for help in Spanish, shouting: “Now don’t be speaking that pig-Latin in my f---ing country!” Johnson now faces multiple charges, according to CNN, including kidnapping, impersonating a law enforcement officer, and assault. Johnson was released from jail over the weekend after paying a bond. Enrique Grace, president of the Charleston Hispanic Association, told CNN that harassment of Latinos was an “everyday thing.” He added: “I don’t think this is an isolated case, it was just caught on video.”
