How do you say Louvre, Acetaminophen and Zohran Mamdani? Probably not the way you have been, according to a report Thursday. The three names were revealed as 2025’s most mispronounced words by language-learning company Babbel and the closed-captioning company The Captioning Group. Almost inevitably, Donald Trump was guilty of butchering one of them: Acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol. uh-SEE-tuh-MIH-nuh-fen is the proper pronunciation of the compound but Trump mangled it time and again when he urged pregnant women to stop taking the painkiller, claiming that consumption in pregnancy is linked to autism in children. The claim has no verifiable evidence and has been widely questioned by the medical community. Also on the list. Paris’ Louvre Museum, where a daring heist made it the subject of headlines around the English-speaking world. The correct pronunciation is LOOV-ruh. And newly-minted political star Zohran Mamdani, the mayor-elect of New York, made the list. It is properly zoh-RAHN mam-DAH-nee but it has been widely mispronounced as man-DAH-nee, including by the man he defeated twice in the mayoral race, former New York governor Andrew Cuomo. That prompted Mamdani to tell Cuomo during a debate, “The name is Mamdani. M-A-M-D-A-N-I,” he said during the mayoral debate.“
