Labor Day weekend in the Hamptons means endless lines. Here's where we saw people waiting the longest.

Certain Hamptons spots are like magnets for the weekend crowds, and have the lines to prove it.

  • Labor Day is one of the most popular weekends in the Hamptons.
  • Certain spots are magnets for Wall Streeters, influencers, and others who flock to the East End.
  • Business Insider took photos of some of the lines this holiday weekend.

Labor Day in the Hamptons: sun-drenched beaches, questionably priced cocktails, linen pants, and lines. Long, long lines.

Tucked away at the easternmost end of New York, the Hamptons transforms from a set of sleepier coastal towns into a crowded hot spot each summer. As the nominal end of the season, Labor Day weekend is especially busy, with waits at some bustling spots being an ultimate test of patience.

Business Insider snapped photos of some of the snaking lines in the Hamptons this weekend.

Stephen Talkhouse

A music venue and bar in Amagansett, the Stephen Talkhouse is a favorite for college students and recent grads. The lines are nearly as well-known as the venue itself — its website notes that doors usually open at 7 p.m., but sometimes people start lining up as early as 6 p.m.

By 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, the line already extended down the block. A bouncer told Business Insider people would likely wait between 45 minutes to an hour, and that the line would stay this long until around 12:30 a.m.

Amber Waves

Amber Waves is one of Ina Garten's favorite Hamptons farm stands, known for its produce, prepared food, and spaciousness. When Business Insider stopped by on Sunday, shoppers filled the bright, produce-lined interior, and a line wound through the store. The line to order took 15 minutes.

Duryea's

Apollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan owns Duryea's, a seafood restaurant known for its $97 lobster Cobb salad and stunning views. Duryea's doesn't take reservations, and a line can form soon after opening, even on weekdays.

Around sunset on Sunday, a string of cars sat on the road leading up to the restaurant.

Getting a bite in Montauk requires a wait

On Saturday morning, people spilled out of many of Montauk's coffee shops, including Joni's.

And at night, lines stretched out of John's Drive-In and into the parking lot, as people waited for ice cream and burgers.
