Want a dinner with president-elect Donald Trump and incoming vice president J.D. Vance ahead of Inauguration Day? Access to both the incoming president and vice president has become a hot commodity in elite circles: for just $1 million dollars (the highest tier), donors can get two tickets to an intimate black-tie event with Vance, followed by six tickets to Trump’s candlelight dinner, according to The Guardian. The outlet reported that in 2016, access to both of the events cost $500,000, a possible sign of Trump’s increasing popularity among the rich. The newest administration’s inaugural committee has raised over $170 million so far, with an expected $200 million ultimately. The committee has offered some deals this time around, however. To attend the cabinet reception, a contribution of $50,000 is needed, which is half the price as 2017. The president-elect’s dinner will be hosted at the National Building Museum in Washington (where Melania Trump will also be joining), while Vance’s will be held at the National Gallery of Art.
