Prime Day carries some of the best sales we see each year outside Black Friday and Cyber Monday, making it a great shopping event for those who don't want to wait another four to five months for notable discounts. This year's July event will last for a whopping four days, from July 8-11, which is twice as long as previous years. The sale is exclusive to people with Amazon Prime memberships, but those who have never had a Prime subscription before can get it on the action with a 30-day free trial (and those who have subscribed to Amazon before can also restart their paid memberships).

When is Amazon Prime Day 2025?
The 2025 Amazon Prime Day event takes place from July 8 to 11, making it the longest the shopping holiday has ever lasted. This is the first Prime Day of the year, but there is also often an October Amazon Prime event, billed last year as Prime Big Deal Days.
Do I need a Prime membership for Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is exclusive to Prime members, making it one of the best perks of signing up. If you have yet to join, it's a feature-packed subscription with benefits to reap year-round. Newcomers can take advantage of a free trial, too.
When should I shop Prime Day deals?
While the 2025 event will last for four days, it's not a bad idea to go ahead and purchase the items you see on sale as soon as you decide you're going to buy them, since things can (and often do!) sell out. In our experience covering Prime Day, the deal price listed once the event begins is typically about as cheap as it will get.
That said, some items don't go on sale on the first day, and this trend is also subject to change year-to-year. Lightning deals can also sometimes provide some extra deep discounts, but these flash sales are only available for a limited time with a limited amount of inventory.
