Disney Plus costs have increased multiple times since the service first launched in 2019, but it remains a competitively priced streaming option for the whole family. Plans start at $10 a month for the stand-alone ad-supported tier and increase when you bundle or go ad-free.
Disney Plus ranks among the best streaming services we've evaluated, consistently providing a top selection of shows and movies for families around the globe. The app carries everything from classic Disney and Pixar films to newer Marvel and Star Wars releases. US viewers can also live stream select programming, including some sporting events. They can unlock even more content by signing up for a Disney Plus Bundle with Hulu and either HBO Max or ESPN Plus.
Despite the aforementioned price hikes, we still think that Disney Plus is one of the best streaming apps you can sign up for, thanks to its deep back catalog and burgeoning slate of original programming. The prices are comparable to similar streaming services and even cheaper than some competitors, including Netflix and Peacock.
Below, we've provided a full Disney Plus price breakdown for every plan and package, including popular bundles with other streaming services.

How much does Disney Plus cost outside the US?
Disney Plus is one of the more globally available streaming services, with many shows and movies streaming through the app around the world. Plans and prices vary from region to region. While the US only has two plans (With Ads and Ad-Free, both able to stream up to 4K), regions like Canada and the United Kingdom have Standard (With Ads), Standard (Ad-Free), and Premium (Ad-Free with 4K video quality).
The exact offerings in the on-demand library are also subject to regional variability. For example, several shows available on Hulu only in the US stream on Disney Plus in the UK. Disney Plus' foray into live streaming is typically exclusive to the US.
Here's how much Disney Plus costs in local currency in other major markets internationally:
Standard (with ads) | Standard (ad-free) | Premium | |
Canada | $9/month | $13/month | $16/month |
United Kingdom | £5/month | £9/month | £13/month |
Europe | €6/month | €10/month | €14/month |
Australia | N/A | $14/month | $18/month |
New Zealand | N/A | $15/month | $19/month |
Can you get Disney Plus for free?
When the app first launched, there was a seven-day Disney Plus free trial. However, the offer was removed years ago, and we haven't seen any signs of its return.
Disney Plus (and Hulu and ESPN Plus) are included with Hulu + Live TV subscriptions. The ad-supported version of this package (which costs $83/month) occasionally offers a three-day free trial.
Ad-supported Disney Plus (and Hulu and HBO Max) are also available through DirecTV's MyEntertainment genre pack, which costs $35/month and includes access to 40+ live channels. This plan comes with a five-day free trial, so you can always try out Disney Plus during this brief period.
As of writing, there aren't any active deals allowing free long-term access to Disney Plus, though the platform often partners with companies like Verizon to offer free or discounted plans through other services. Verizon currently offers the ad-supported Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus bundle at a discounted rate of $10 a month if you select it as a perk on your Unlimited plan. Previously, Verizon offered ad-free Disney Plus for six months, but this promo is no longer available. We'll update this section if any new promotions become available.
How does the Disney Plus price compare to the cost of other streaming services?
The ad-free Disney Plus price is competitive when compared to similar streaming services like Max, Hulu, Peacock, and Netflix, but it's more expensive than other options like Paramount Plus and Apple TV Plus. The chart below shows that the ad-free Disney Plus price hovers toward the upper midrange of ad-free plans.
Disney Plus ad-free price compared to ad-free competitors:
Service | Ad-free price |
Disney Plus | $16/month |
Hulu | $19/month |
HBO Max | $17-$21/month |
Netflix | $18-$25/month |
Peacock Premium Plus | $17/month |
Amazon Prime Video | $12-$18/month |
Paramount Plus | $13/month |
Apple TV Plus | $10/month |
Discovery Plus | $10/month |
What are the Disney Plus bundle options?
If you want to watch sports and additional movies and TV shows from non-Disney sources, you can save some money by choosing one of the Disney Plus bundles with Hulu and ESPN Plus or HBO Max.
You can bundle Disney Plus with Hulu as part of the Basic bundle, which costs $11 a month for ad-supported streaming. You can upgrade the bundle to ad-free Premium for $20 a month.
The Disney Plus (ads), Hulu (ads), and ESPN Plus bundle costs $17 monthly. You can also bundle Disney Plus (ad-free) with Hulu (ad-free) and ESPN Plus for $27 a month. The bundle can save you more than 40% off the regular combined price of all three services.
The Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus bundle is also included with all Hulu + Live TV subscriptions. Live TV with the ad-supported trio costs $83/month, while live TV with ad-free options costs $96/month. It's important to note that only Disney Plus and Hulu are ad-free with this higher tier. ESPN Plus will always have advertisements due to the nature of live TV.
Alternatively, you can save by bundling Disney Plus with Hulu and Max. You can sign up for the three services with ads for $17 a month, or opt for ad-free streaming for $30 a month, saving you up to 38% compared to subscribing to each individually.
You can find detailed instructions for bundling different versions of Hulu with Disney Plus and ESPN Plus in our Disney Plus bundle guide, where we also break down how to watch ESPN Plus or Hulu from within the Disney Plus app.
Does Disney Plus charge for password sharing?
Streaming services have increasingly begun to crack down on password sharing, and Disney properties are no exception. Disney Plus does not allow members to share their passwords with users outside their households. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that you have to pay for a new subscription. Instead of signing up for a brand-new plan, there's an Extra Member option for both the ad-supported and ad-free versions of Disney Plus.
Extra Member add-on subscriptions cost an additional $7 a month for Basic and $10 a month for Premium. You can also get Extra add-ons for the Disney Bundle Duo Basic ($8 a month), Disney Bundle Duo Premium ($11 a month), Disney Bundle Trio Basic ($12 a month), and Disney Bundle Trio Premium ($15 a month).
When was the last Disney Plus price hike?
The last Disney Plus price hike was on October 17, 2024. The increase impacted every plan across Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus. Most tiers of the service increased by an average of $2 a month. The ad-supported base Disney Plus tier was previously $8, the ad-supported Disney Plus and Hulu bundle was $10, and the ad-supported bundle trio was $15.
