Deputy Secretary Landau’s Meeting with Mozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau met today with Mozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas to sign a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on global health cooperation. The MOU will help Mozambique build a more robust and vigorous healthcare system and move toward self-reliance. The Deputy Secretary also recognized Mozambique’s cooperation with the United States on a variety of important economic and commercial matters, including liquefied natural gas and critical minerals. Both parties noted the importance of security cooperation to promote the interests of both countries.
