Denver’s new lion cubs are almost ready to meet their fans

Four of the Denver Zoo’s newest – and cutest – residents are almost ready for their close ups, with the four African lion cubs set to make their public debut this week.

Four of the Denver Zoo’s newest — and cutest — residents are almost ready for their close-ups, with the four African lion cubs set to make their public debut Thursday morning.

The cubs were born to mom Araali on Aug. 13 and have spent the last eight weeks getting to know each other and bonding, Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance officials said Monday.

They ventured outside for the first time last week and have “loved climbing, chasing and discovering this new space!” zoo officials said on social media.

Zoo visitors who want a first look at the little lions have the best chance of doing so in the mornings, with the cubs set for daily outdoor time from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. starting Thursday.

That time may extend as the siblings get more comfortable in their new home, according to the zoo.
