A Delta Air Lines passenger jet on Tuesday struck an Air Canada aircraft being towed to its arrival gate just after it landed at Los Angeles International Airport, both airlines said.
Delta Air Lines Flight 7, slated to depart for Tokyo, carrying 275 passengers and 15 crew members, struck an Air Canada passenger jet with its left wingtip, a Delta spokesperson told Fox News Digital. No injuries were initially reported.
"While taxiing at Los Angeles International Airport, a Delta aircraft made contact with an Air Canada aircraft," a Delta statement said. "Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people, and we apologize to our customers for the experience and delay in their travel."

Air Canada flight AC785 had just arrived to Los Angeles from Toronto when it was being towed to the gate, the airline told Fox News Digital.
"An aircraft operated by another airline made contact with its tail," Air Canada said. "There are no reported injuries. The Air Canada aircraft will be taken out of service for inspection and repairs.

A video posted online by TMZ shows an Air Canada plane with a visible gash on one of its wings.
No injuries were reported, the airline said. Delta maintenance crews and airport teams are assessing the aircraft, an Airbus A350-900. The airline said it was working to accommodate the passengers and was evaluating "recovery options."
The airline said it will cooperate with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which will investigate the incident.
In March, a regional Air Canada plane collided with a Port Authority airport vehicle at LaGuardia Airport in New York City. The collision destroyed the front of the aircraft and left two pilots dead and dozens injured.
