Crate & Barrel is back in Cherry Creek.
The furniture and home goods store is opening a location in the existing 23,000-square-foot Macy’s Furniture Gallery at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, 3122 E. First Ave., according to public records.
Illinois-based Crate & Barrel did not respond to a request for comment on its plans, which call for a $466,000 build-out. The retailer closed its doors at 101 Clayton Lane a year ago to make way for redevelopment of the property into apartments with ground-floor retail.
Macy’s, meanwhile, will move the furniture store into its general retail store next door in the mall by April, the company confirmed to BusinessDen.
“This change makes shopping for furniture easier and more convenient, allowing customers to explore our home assortment alongside apparel, beauty, and other categories in a single visit,” Macy’s spokesman Orlando Veras said in a written statement.
The mall owner, Simon Property Group, did not respond to a request for comment.
Macy’s Furniture Gallery moved from the west side of the mall to its existing location in 2018 along with The Container Store to make way for a future redevelopment. Each business occupies about half of the 52,000-square-foot building.
Macy’s has been shrinking its Denver footprint in recent years, closing locations in Littleton, Central Park and Centennial. The company shuttered 66 locations across the country in 2025 and plans to nix 14 more stores this year.
