Colorado state troopers search for hit-and-run suspect in fatal crash near Boulder

A blue Toyota Highlander struck a man biking near 95th Street and Avocet Lane on Sunday in Boulder County and fled the scene, state patrol officials said. The cyclist died from his injuries.

Colorado State Patrol troopers are searching for a driver who struck and killed a cyclist east of Boulder before fleeing the scene Sunday morning, agency officials said.

Troopers responded to the crash at 95th Street and Avocet Lane in Boulder County, about 8 miles east of Boulder, at 11:57 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the state agency.

A blue Toyota Highlander with Colorado plate DTSG89 allegedly struck a man biking in the area and fled the scene, agency officials said in the release.

Paramedics took the cyclist to the hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to the news release.

Investigators said the blue Toyota Highlander they’re searching for has heavy front-end damage and a missing windshield.
