Colorado spring football game set for April 11

Colorado’s annual Black & Gold Day has been slated for April 11.

Colorado’s annual Black & Gold Day has been slated for April 11.

The spring game, scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Folsom Field will conclude head coach Deion Sanders’ fourth spring with the Buffaloes.

Unlike the previous three seasons, there is no charge for admission to this year’s spring game, although tickets must be claimed. Beginning March 3 at 10 a.m., fans can claim tickets at app.cubuffs.com/blackandgold2026.

CU opens spring practice on March 2. Coming off a disappointing 3-9 season, the Buffs bring back redshirt freshman quarterback Julian Lewis, receiver Joseph Williams and others to lead a roster that features more than 50 newcomers.

In addition, Ralphie VII, who made her CU debut last fall, is scheduled to run for the first time at a spring game, weather permitting. Gates for the spring game will open at 11 a.m.

As part of Black & Gold Day, CU will host the annual Field Day presented by Children’s Hospital Colorado, Jr. Buffs Spirit Clinic and there will be an opportunity for fans to meet the football team for autographs and photos.

Coach Prime’s three previous spring games were the most-attended spring games in CU history. In 2023, a sold-out crowd of 47,277 fans packed into Folsom Field for Coach Prime’s debut. CU distributed 28,424 tickets for the 2024 spring game and 20,430 for the game in 2025.

Prior to Coach Prime’s arrival, the record attendance for the spring game was 17,800 in 2008.
