For the third consecutive season, the Colorado football team will open with a non-Saturday game.
On Monday, CU announced that its 2026 opener at Georgia Tech will be played on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta.
The game will be on ESPN, with a kickoff time to be announced at a later date.
This will be the fifth time in the last six years and the 12th time in the last 14 that the Buffs will open with a non-Saturday game. Last year’s opener against Georgia Tech was on a Friday at Folsom Field and the 2024 opener against North Dakota State was on a Thursday in Boulder.
CU will make its first-ever trip to Atlanta for the season opener. The Buffs and Yellow Jackets met for the first time on Aug. 29, with Tech winning, 27-20.
Following the trip to Atlanta, CU will open the home portion of the schedule on Sept. 12 when Weber State visits Folsom Field.
Other home games include dates with Texas Tech (Oct. 3), Utah (Oct. 17), Kansas State (Oct. 31), Houston (Nov. 14) and Central Florida (Nov. 28).
The Buffs’ other road games are at Northwestern (Sept. 19), Baylor (Sept. 26), Oklahoma State (Oct. 24), Arizona State (Nov. 7) and Cincinnati (Nov. 21).
