The aide tasked with holding up botched evidence for MAGA Senator Eric Schmitt may have lost a major new job after his role in the humiliating episode.
Ethan Harper, Schmitt’s general counsel, was responsible for displaying a poster that falsely accused Jack Smith of colluding with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis during a fiery Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday.
The poster included screenshots of text messages alleging Smith attended an Atlanta Hawks game in Atlanta in February 2024. He had actually gone to a women’s basketball game featuring the Iowa Hawkeyes, not the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, as Schmitt clearly thought.
