DENVER, Colo. – Summertravel plans have taken a turn for the worse in Denver,Colorado, as nearly two dozen flights were diverted due to severe weather conditions this week.
According to Colorado Springs Airport, 22 airplanes were diverted from Denver International Airport to Colorado Springs due to severe weather that created unsafe flying conditions.

Upon arrival at the airport on Monday evening, five passengers needed medical assistance, with one victim transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Turbulence on a flight is broken down into four categories: light, moderate, severe and extreme.
Turbulence can range from insignificant bumps to severe enough to momentarily throw the plane out of control or cause structural damage.
This comes as the Denver area experiences wet weather on Tuesday, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
By the end of the evening, all aircraft had resumed normal operations, successfully concluding the diversion.
The victim that was transported to the hospital is in stable condition.
